The Fake ID: Part Two

After doubling back from the subway, I unlocked the door to the condo and the aroma of mom’s cooking lured me right into the kitchen. On this rare occasion that we were all home at the same time, my mother, my sister Chloe and I sat down to eat together. We enjoyed fried chicken, rice and peas with a medley of veggies. After dinner Chloe and I gathered into the living room and plopped ourselves in front of the television; leaving mom in the kitchen to wash the dishes and tidy up after us. While she was occupied in the kitchen I took this prime opportunity to ask Chloe where I could get my hands on a fake I.D.
“Hey Chloe,” I called to her in a bit of a shaky voice.
“What do you want?” she responded with a quizzical look on her face.
“Where I can get a fake I.D. by tomorrow?”
“It’s super easy to get a fake I.D. in this area! In fact, just off Yonge Street by the Eaton Center, there is this man in an alley close to where Sam the Record Man used to be. Rather weird looking dude but he hooks it up right from his Volkswagen, I believe he only charges forty bucks.”
“Seriously?!? Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you!!!” Next thing I knew my emotions took over and was wrapped around her like a koala to a tree.
“No problem, just get the hell off me!” She declared, and pulled at me from the back of my collar in order to haul me off. “What do you need it for anyway?” She continued.
“Siobhan, Travis and I are going to go to Seven Lounge” I offered.
“Doesn’t Daren’s brother own that place? Why can’t he just get you in? He’s done it before, everything alright between you two?-“
“Gosh damn! What the hell was that for?” She demanded.
My scream must have really caught her off guard as it left her with an unpleasant expression on her face. “Sorry but that is exactly why I need to go there. I am so tried of people questioning the status of our relationship. So I need to go see for myself what’s going down.”
“Sounds like an episode of Cheaters unfolding!”
“Right! That was my initial thought exactly!” I agree a bit too enthusiastically given the situation.
“Good Luck with that! Don’t go off to that alley alone, asks Travis to go with you or something.”
For a moment it sounded as though Chloe was genuinely concerned about me. I felt like I had one of those come again expressions on my face; however, instead I managed “Yeah thanks, I’ll text him the info right now!”
Travis has always been there for me since the first day we met in high school. It makes four years that we’ve known each other now as we graduate next month.
