WAKE UP CANADA!
(channeling my inner Adel from Big Brother Canada season 2 #BBCAN2).
While you may or may not have been sleeping…
Our very own Toronto Raptors are the 2019 NBA Champions! They’re bringing the Larry O’Brien trophy home Canada! For the first time in franchise history the Six took it in game six, winning 114-110! The game was invented by James Naismith, a Canadian! The first NBA game was played in Toronto! Now, some 24 years later it has come full circle and now the Toronto Raptors have clinched their first championship!
Everyone came out to get it done; Lowry and Spicy P both had 26pts while Kawhi added 22pts to the mix. We can’t forget about VanVleet’s contribution, he was on fire from the 3pt line also adding 22pts. Fun fact: Only a total of 6 players scored the whole night! The other two were Ibaka who battled the boards for us with 15pts and Gasol with 3pts. It was a nail bitter right down to the final seconds. Was it just me or was that the longest 0.9 seconds of your life?
As for who was the MVP, that recognition went to Kawhi Leonard of course! He remained humble and positive throughout this series, a true leader for this team #Wethenorth #OhCanada! #Wearethechampions!
Tell us in the comments what were you doing when the Toronto Raptors won the NBA championship?
